Assign IP address and route in Linux…

To assign a IP address to an interface of a Linux Host –

ifconfig eth1 A.B.C.D netmask 255.255.255.x up

Add a static route for any destination –

route add -net A.B.C.0 netmask 255.255.255.x gw A.B.C.X

Add DNS server IP at /etc/resolve.conf-

search btraccl.com
nameserver E.F.G.G
nameserver 4.2.2.2
